JOB TITLE: HVAC Skilled Maintenance Technician
LOCATION: District Office Maintenance Department
REPORTS TO: Maintenance Supervisor
CALENDAR: 245 Days a year
HOURS: Full Time
SALARY: $23.91 - 32.62 depending on previous experience

JOB SUMMARY:
To maintain the physical school plant in a condition of operating excellence so that full educational use of it may be made at all times. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and abilities required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in HVAC repairs with EPA Refrigerant Certification
- Minimum of two years experience in general building maintenance (e.g. electrical, plumbing, carpentry and general building maintenance)
- Basic computer literacy (e.g. word, excel, email, internet)
- Possess good verbal and written communications skills.
- Posses a valid Idaho driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Demonstrate ability to accomplish the major duties and responsibilities listed below.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform general maintenance work (e.g. HVAC, electrical plumbing, roofing, welding, carpentry, concrete, masonry, painting, grounds, irrigation, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining facilities in a safe condition enabling full educational use of facilities at all times.
- Troubleshoot and repair various commercial grade kitchen appliances and custodial equipment.
- Test and maintain emergency equipment to ensure working properly.
- Inspect and perform minor repairs on fire and security monitoring systems.
- Follow the work routines and other duties as assigned by the Facilities Supervisor.
- Keep the physical plant operating in a safe, efficient manner.
- Develop and follow a preventative maintenance schedule for HVAC systems.
- Operate all maintenance vehicles in a safe lawful manner.
- Maintain tools, equipment and parts inventory to guard against breakage, loss or theft.
- Perform all jobs assigned with minimum interruptions to the educational process.
- Work within and around the schedules of others .
- When performing duties use time productively in regards to travel, gathering materials and visiting with others.
- Requires prolonged standing, sitting, bending, stooping, crawling and other physical exertions; required to work on ladders and roofs; requires safety awareness on construction, repair and emergency sites; exposed to high noise levels for machines; may be exposed to potentially dangerous conditions; requires to wear protective gear; required to work outdoors in inclement weather; required to lift and carry heavy supplies, materials and equipment over fifty (50) pounds.
- Be on call as needed for emergency repairs, fire and security issues, snow and/or ice removal, or special needs falling outside of the normal working hours.

- Deal with students, parents, staff and others in a positive, encouraging manner.
