Job Title: Building Aide
Location: Reed Elementary
Reports To: Principal
Hours: Part-Time
Hourly Wage: $13.20 - 15.61/hr - depending on previous experience in a school
Job Summary:
Help to maintain a safe and secure environment for students, staff, and visitors. May monitor entrances and exits, supervise students during recess or other activities, and report any security concerns or incidents to the appropriate authorities.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Positive public relations skills
- Demonstrated ability to accomplish the major duties listed below.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Handle minor discipline issues, record incidents, and notify the classroom teacher or Student Support Manager as appropriate.
- Assist in the implementation of programs/activities to promote a safe, positive school culture.
- Monitor hallways and classrooms to increase student on-task time, ensure student safety, and reduce vandalism and other inappropriate behaviors.
- Assist with lunch recess duty coverage. Proactive work to increase positive playground activities.
- Direct lunchtime activities for students.
- Perform such school-related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Deal with students, parents, staff, and others in a positive, encouraging manner.
- Act ethically and confidentially in all aspects of employment.
- Other duties as assigned
