Job Title: Substitute School Nurse
Location: Multiple Locations
Reports To: Nurse Coordinator and Principal in the respective building
Calendar: Employed on a daily basis according to need
Salary: $150/day

Job Summary:
To provide district-wide school health services that promote the highest level of physical, mental and social well-being for all district students. Acts as a Substitute Nurse for the Kuna School District when a School Nurse is out or unavailable.
Qualifications:
- Possess a current state license to practice as a registered nurse
- Prefer a minimum of five years of varied nursing experience and previous school nurse experience
- Demonstrated ability to accomplish the major duties listed below
- Positive public relations skills
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work collaboratively with schools, staff, and other nurses to provide consistency in care for students
- Perform any other professional duties requested by the superintendent.
- Report to parents, school personnel, physicians, clinics, and other agencies on school medical matters. Report to the school principal before reporting to parents.
- Observe students detect health needs as requested by IEP Teams, Student Assistance Teams, Care Teams, or building administrators.
- Assume the authority, in the absence of a physician, for the care of a student or staff member who has suffered injury or emergency illness.
- Assume responsibility for accident reports.
- Visit students' homes when necessary.
- Recommend to the administration the exclusion and re-admission of students in connection with infectious and contagious diseases.
- Deal with students, parents, staff, and others in a positive, encouraging manner.
- Know and follow district policy and chain of command.
- Act ethically and confidentially in all aspects of employment.
- Any other duties as assigned.
- May require travel among different schools within the District
