Location:  Hubbard Elementary
Reports To:  Principal
Hours:  Full- Time 

Calendar: 185 Days
Salary:  Placed on the Certified Salary Payscale PLUS

JOB SUMMARY:    

 

Provides students with the fullest educational opportunity to learn and progress through use of appropriate teaching strategies and materials.

 

  1. Must possess a current Idaho Special Education Certification: Early Childhood Credential
  2. Positive public relations skills.
  3. Demonstrated ability to accomplish the major duties listed below.

 

Major Duties and Responsibilities:  

 

  1. Successful experience working with special education students in a classroom setting that include
  2. Varying ability levels, including at-risk students.
  3. Committed to continual collaboration with counselors, administrators, and other teachers.
  4. Commitment to a team approach in all aspects of educational programming.
  5. Communicate effectively with parents and students.
  6. Innovative, self-starter.
  7. Be knowledgeable of, and uphold all policies pertaining to teachers and students as specified in district rules and regulations.
  8. Demonstrate knowledge of subject matter competencies and/or skills to be presented to students.
  9. Plan a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students to the extent possible.
  10. Evaluate student progress on a regular basis and provide progress reports as required.
  11. Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.  Follow prescribed safety regulations.
  12. Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations.
  13. Work to establish and maintain open lines of communication and cooperative relations with the administration, students, parents, and colleagues.
  14. Strive to maintain and improve professional competence.
  15. Know and follow district policy and chain of command.
  16. Deal with students, parents, staff, and others in a positive, encouraging manner.
  17. Act ethically and confidentially in all aspects of employment.
