Job Title: Certified Occupational Therapist

Job Summary:

As a Certified Occupational Therapist, you will play a crucial role in supporting students' physical, sensory, and developmental needs to ensure their success in an educational setting. Your expertise will help students overcome barriers to learning and participate fully in their academic environment.

 

The primary responsibilities of this role include:  

 

  1. Assess and Evaluate:  
    1. Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify students' occupational therapy needs. 
    2. Evaluate students' physical, sensory, and cognitive capabilities to develop individualized treatment plans. 

 

  1. Individualized Therapy:  
    1. Provide one-on-one or group therapy sessions to address students' specific needs. 
    2. Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions to improve fine and gross motor skills, sensory processing, and functional daily living skills. 

 

  1. Collaboration:  
    1. Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other members of the school's interdisciplinary team to develop and implement intervention strategies that support students' educational goals. 
    2. Participate in Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meetings to contribute to students' personalized plans. 

 

  1. Monitoring Progress:  
    1. Track students' progress and make data-driven decisions to adjust therapy interventions as needed. 
    2. Provide regular progress reports to parents and school staff. 



  1. Assistive Technology:  
    1. Recommend and implement assistive technology solutions to enhance students' participation in the classroom. 

 

  1. Professional Development:  
    1. Stay up-to-date with best practices and current research in occupational therapy. 
    2. Pursue continuing education and professional development opportunities to maintain certification and enhance skills. 

 

  1. Record Keeping:  
    1. Maintain accurate and confidential records of therapy sessions, assessments, and progress reports. 

 

  1. Safety and Compliance:  
    1. Ensure a safe and supportive environment for students during therapy sessions. 
    2. Adhere to all relevant regulations and guidelines governing occupational therapy services in schools.
